MCP (an Opta Minerals Company)
Founded in 1995 and acquired by Opta Minerals Inc. in 2008*, MCP is the European leader for processing of pure magnesium and magnesium alloys.
Using our very own method, we produce spherical granules, particulates and high purity powders. Different particle shapes and sizes are manufactured to the specifications of our customers.
- MCP uses state-of-the-art technologies. Fully automated mechanical granulation installation : high-power milling, grinding, ultrasonic sieving, mixing, etc.
- Control laboratory for chemical analysis, particulate size analysis, (conventional and laser diffraction), flowability tests, etc.

MCP and the environment
Our plant is a registered site (Authorization n°6397 dd 05/11/97). Stringent safety rules are followed in accordance with DRIRE (Direction Régionale de l'Industrie, de la Recherche et de l'Environnement). Our operations are strictly in accordance with European safety standards.

High purity magnesium particulates appropriate for chemical industries and particularly for "Grignard reagents". We obtain different shapes and sizes suitable for organomagnesium products used for organic synthesis in production of vitamins, pharmaceutical products, animal nutrition, synthesized flavors, fragrances, etc.

Other uses:
Magnesium powders - pyrotechnics, chemistry of polyethylene
Pure magnesium granules or alloys is used on hot metal desulphurization of iron, especially for injection in ladle desulphurization processes. These granules are manufactured to meet steel plant requirements (blends, injection parameters, etc.)
Special granules used for injection and production of magnesium alloys parts. Also used in thixomoulding in order to produce mobile phone casings, computer casings and other parts in magnesium alloys.
